Order Tracking

1. Once removed from its packaging, you’ll notice the rubber gasket on both mounting blocks are loose — this is designed for easy maintenance when cleaning. Remove plastic backing on the Velcro adhesive on one of the mounting blocks and attach to the tub ledge first, then the wall by pressing to seal the gaskets. Repeat on the opposite wall with the other mounting block.

2. Remove the short bar from the foam sleeve. Loosen the knob on the long bar and insert the short bar fully into it, but do not tighten yet.

3. Place one side of the bar into the lowest setting of a mounting block, then extend the short bar to engage with the lowest setting on the opposite mounting block. Tighten the knob. Make sure the Safety Bar is fully parallel to the ledge of the tub.

4. The bar should be locked into the mounting block track with minimal side-to-side movement.

5. Once locked into place, raise the bar to the safety height by lifting each side until locked in the top position. The StartSmart® Safety Bar is now ready for use.

Note: Extra foam is included for longer tubs, or to cover any small exposed area of the short bar. Measure the exposed area, mark and cut the extra foam, slide it on, reinsert the bar, lock the knob, and repeat steps 4 and 5.
